Culligan of Roanoke Helping Flood Victims

West Virginia is still reeling from the deadly storms that left parts of the state with cleanup from widespread flooding that killed 23 and left thousands homeless.  More than 1,200 homes were severely damaged or destroyed.  The Governor announced that a federal disaster declaration was approved for three of the hardest hit counties.

Culligan of Roanoke jumped to action in helping those affected flood areas in and around White Sulphur Springs, WV.  Mark Stoner, Sr. V.P. of Culligan Roanoke set up a donation drop-off at the Culligan dealership to collect food and supplies for the flood victims.

With the guidance of FEMA, Mark and family members drove to the local Episcopal Church in Sulphur Springs where volunteers are being organized to help with the overall cleanup efforts.  Along with a truckload of bottled water donated by Culligan, Stoner delivered the other donated items.

The organizers were overwhelmed that the Culligan Man was there to help and gladly accepted the water and donated items.  “Seeing the damage just in the one small area that we were in was simply amazing” said Stoner.  “One can't truly grasp the extent of the damage and toll taken from this terrible event until you see it first-hand.”

The next phase of efforts include rebuilding which requires skilled volunteer help including plumbers, carpenters and electricians.  Mark plans to get his service staff involved in upcoming rebuilding efforts.
