Culligan Helps Louisiana Flood Victims

The flooding in Louisiana has been identified as the worst natural disaster to strike the United States since Hurricane Sandy four years ago cited the Red Cross. The catastrophic flooding is anticipated to cost $30 million in devastation and may grow to even more.  In one part of Livingston Parish, more than 31 inches of rain fell in 15 hours!

President Barack Obama had directed FEMA Director Craig Fugate to "utilize all resources available to assist in the response and recovery," the White House said. Obama has declared at least 20 parishes as disaster areas.

Convoy of Hope was the first non-regional organization to respond in the area and assist flood survivors with the distribution of supplies – including food, water, cleaning supplies and hygiene kits.

Having clean, safe drinking water is an essential part of the relief efforts. To assist Convoy of Hope in those efforts, Culligan has donated several truckloads of bottled water that will be distributed as needed to the flood victims.

As of September 6, the distribution side has wrapped up and over the course of three weeks, nearly 74,000 individuals were served through Convoy of Hope. Culligan appreciates the opportunity to partner with Convoy of Hope for the distribution of clean, safe water when and where it’s needed.
